Reader: she/her pronouns

   ~~~
       Waking up in the morning was hard enough.
       Waking up with a huge headache was less than desirable.
       She groaned loudly, wincing at the sunlight that found a home in her room.
       But wait.
       This isn't...
       "What?!"
       Panicking and shooting straight out of bed, was also less than desirable.
   ~~~

       She remembered falling asleep in her room, not her skeleton friend's room.

       She also remembered having skin.

       Not just bones.

       She looked down at her hands, her panic level rising the longer she looked. It didn't take her long to realize that this body was not her own. Her gaze shot up from her hands, quickly looking around for Sans' cellphone, or any way to get into contact with a certain someone. She didn't have to look much, as a ringtone went off in the room she was in.

       The person she was planning to message seemed to beat her to it.

       Following the noise of the ringtone, she easily found the phone. She got up from the bed, almost falling over. She felt much smaller, which was indeed the case seeing as how short Sans was. Using the wall as support, she made her way over to where the phone was resting on a large pile of trash. Grabbing it quickly, she looked at the screen to confirm that who she believed was Sans in her body, was phoning her. She pressed the button to answer the call.

       "hey." She said in a voice that was not her own, but was Sans'. She made herself sound as calm as possible, not wanting to freak out just yet.

       "Hey, so um..." The voice that was hers replied.

       "should we meet up somewhere?"

       "Yeah."

       "grillby's?"

       "Yeah."

       "see you there." The phone call ended quickly.

       She sighed loudly, preparing herself to face the world in the body that was not her's.

   ~~~
       Making it to Grillby's was not the easiest task. Many monsters had stopped her on her way, assuming that she was Sans. She tried her best to play the part of the blue skeleton, cringing slightly at her attempts. She had gotten a few weird looks, but no questions about her strange behavior were asked. She was just glad that she hadn't encountered Papyrus at all, as she felt that he would probably be able to tell that Sans was not acting like himself.
       Entering Grillby's, she instantly noticed herself, still wearing the pajamas she had worn the night previous. She felt one part upset, seeing as how her body looked rather gross, seeing as how her hair was a mess and she was wearing dirty clothing. On the other hand she was feeling quite glad that Sans didn't get changed while he was in her body, as that was something she was definitely not okay with happening. She supposed she shouldn't really say anything about the clothing though, as she had also kept on the clothing that Sans had worn to bed. She watched as her own figure raised their head, and made eye contact with the body she was in. She exchanged awkward eye contact with Sans, quickly approaching him.
       "so..." She started, feeling awkward at the fact she was technically having a conversation with herself.
       "So." Sans was obviously feeling just as uncomfortable as she currently was.
       "what should we do?" She kept her voice as low as possible, not wanting anyone else to hear the conversation that was taking place.
       "We should probably go see Alphys. Try and act like each other." Sans got the hint and lowered his voice as well.
       "i think acting like each other is easier said than done."
       "Hope no one tries to talk to us then?"
       "yeah okay, mr. popular. literally everyone talks to you."
       "Guess we should get a move on before literally everyone tries to talk to you." Sans attempted to mock her last statement with a weird voice, but stopped soon after when he realized that he was basically making fun of himself.
       She sighed for what seemed like the one hundredth time that day, but agreed with Sans.
   ~~~

       It didn't seem to matter how soon they left, many people attempted to talk to them. Their acting was insanely poor at first. They exchanged dirty looks every time the other messed up, but they soon got the hang of it.

       The one thing she did notice about Sans, was that even though he was very poor at pretending to be her, he remembered a lot about her. This fact was oddly touching in a way. He seemed to remember even smaller details that she didn't think were that important, such as what her favorite color was. Sometimes, he was almost too quick to answer the questions that were directed towards him. This was slightly strange to her, because she's fairly certain that Sans has fallen asleep in the middle of the good majority of their conversations, but she wasn't going to complain at the current moment.

       The walk to Alphys' didn't seem nearly long enough, (Y/N) was enjoying her time with Sans far too greatly. Although the walk wasn't really started in preferable conditions, she found herself loving the new things she was learning about Sans. Her general love for Sans was growing too. She was so lost in thoughts revolving around her companion, that she almost didn't notice when they had reached the tiny monster's home. (Y/N) just barely missed walking into the wall of the home, Sans' voice cutting her out of her own thoughts.

       "Looks like we're here."

       "h-huh? oh! riiight. yeah."

       Sans gave her a strange look quickly, causing her to mentally curse herself. She rapidly turned her head, and knocked on the door to avoid Sans saying anything about her air-headed behavior. A muffled voice came from inside, the words not quite distinguishable, although the two assumed it was a 'Coming!'. Their thoughts were proven correct, when the door soon opened and they were greeted with Alphys.

       "O-oh! Sans, (Y/N). How can I help you?" The tiny monster looked between the two.

       "Long story." Sans began.

       "we were wondering if you could maybe switch our bodies back." (Y/N) added.

   ~~~
       The process of being returned from their bodies was...
       Less than desirable and followed by a large feeling of nausea.
       However, it was probably worth it, considering (Y/N) had skin again. Sans looked equally as relieved to be in his own body as well. After their sick feelings had passed, they thanked Alphys and went to walk back to Snowdin, most of the way spent in silence.
       (Y/N) decided to break the quiet air around them.
       "So... uh... You remembered quite a bit about me, huh?" She pretended not to notice the slight blush that appeared on Sans' face. "Kind of cute, actually."
       "i was just doing what we agreed to do."
       "Mhmmm."
       "what kind of friend would i be if i forgot?"
       "You're adorable."
